Share your passion for running – train as a jog leader!

Thursday 27 July 2023

Could you inspire others with your love of running? Are you passionate about the ways in which physical activity can help people to improve their physical and mental health? Why not train as a jogscotland jog leader?

We’ve just published the autumn dates for our Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) course, which will teach you all you need to know to set up your own jogscotland group, or to lead with an existing group. It is taught through blended learning, with a series of online modules followed by a half day in-person practical session. Once you’ve completed the course, and received your UK Athletics Leaders licence card, you can get going!

You don’t have to be a fast runner to be a jog leader – some of our best leaders are those who remember how it felt to be a beginner. Most important is a passion for meeting joggers where they’re at, encouraging them to meet their own goals, and celebrating achievement at every level.

We’re also delighted to be offering two more opportunities to take our new Fell, Hill, Off Road and Trail module. This is aimed at those who are already jog leaders, and who want to increase their knowledge and skills for leading off-road.

Jog leaders looking to continue their learning may also wish to consider the Coach in Running Fitness course. The next dates for this will be announced within the next few weeks.
