Stride magazine – the Spring 2026 edition is out!

Thursday 2 April 2026

The Spring 2026 edition of Stride magazine is out, and is full of news and stories from the jogscotland community!

With hundreds of new members joining our groups since the start of the year, we’ve some top tips from jogscotland Programme Manager, Jo Skead, to help you stick with your new found active habits for the long haul. You can also find out about parkrun if you have your eyes set on a friendly 5K challenge, and you can get some inspiration by reading all about the winners of the 4J jogscotland Annual Awards.

We’ve a lovely story from Carluke jogscotland, about Anna Hulme and her husband Chris. When they got engaged, they decided they weren’t too fussed with a stag or hen do – instead they invited their jogging pals to join them at their local parkrun, dressed for a wedding – with Anna in full wedding dress! It’s a lovely example of the sense of friendship and community that is typical of jogscotland groups – they’re so much more than just a place to run.

Jog leader Jim Glennie of On The Run Cumbernauld tells us of his experience of being treated for prostate cancer, and how getting back to the group at a manageable level restored his sense of normality – we wish Jim all the best with his continued recovery.

There’s an introduction to our new Head of Development and Participation, Hazel Crawford, and of course all our usual book reviews, columns, and news.
