Leadership in Running Fitness – blended learning now available
Monday 12 October 2020

We are delighted to announce that the our Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) course, which qualifies you to become a jogscotland jog leader, is now available via blended learning.
The course, usually delivered via one day of face-to-face teaching, now consists of a series of four online learning modules, and a half day practical session. The new course has been developed to reduce the level of face-to-face contact required, and additional protocols such as PPE, risk assessments and outdoor delivery where possible will be in place for the practical sessions. These will of course be subject to any future developments in covid guidance.
The online modules will cover:
- Individual Centred Leading and the Role of the Leader
- Running Fitness Session Content
- Performance Factors, Energy Systems and their Application
- Injury Avoidance.
These modules will take approximately an hour each and should be completed before attending the practical session.
The practical session will look to apply the theoretical knowledge covered in the online modules. This session will also provide an opportunity to practice leading mixed ability groups effectively, exploring the How-2 lead skills, components of a session and the running technical template. There is no assessment element.
In addition to the core elements of the course, candidates will be required to complete an online mental health awareness course from SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) and safeguarding training will provided either as a separate module, or on the day of the practical course.

The cost of the course is £110.
