We are delighted to announce that international ultrarunner, James Stewart, will join us as keynote speaker for this year’s Jog Leader Conference.

James is a GB 24 hour (2017, 2018, 2019 & 2022) and Scottish 100k (2016, 2019) International ultra-runner. Ten years ago he was grossly overweight and drifting towards significant health problems. Then he discovered the power of running. Since then he has won iconic races like the West Highland Way and Rocky Racoon 100 and won team silver at the 2018 24 hour European Championships.

He will talk about Finding Summits, Getting Started and Keeping Going – telling jog leaders how he got started as a runner, built a series of small goals, and moved into performance. He’ll also offer motivation hacks and talk about overcoming setbacks.

The conference will take place at Stirling Court Hotel, Stirling University, on 15 October, from 9am to 4pm, and will include a programme of updates, activities and knowledge-sharing for jog leaders. Tickets cost £10 for the day, which includes lunch, and are available online. The event is specifically for jogscotland jog leaders – please do ensure you have an up-to-date jog leader membership and valid UKA licence before reserving your place.

The programme will be as follows:
