Fell, hill, off road and trail module offered in Stirling

Jog leaders will have the chance to expand their skills with our Fell, hill, off road and trail module this coming spring. The half day course will be offered in Stirling on 20 April.
The module is for those who already have the Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) qualification, and want to expand their skills and confidence for leading in a variety of off-road settings.
It is designed to prepare you to provide a safe and enjoyable running experience for over 18s, of any ability, with a focus on typical fell and hill terrains. This will include leading on public paths marked on an Ordnance Survey ‘Explorer’ or ‘Landranger’ map (including those shown on open access land), and the published routes of licensed fell/hill races.
The course builds on LiRF/Jog Leader, contextualising the learning for an unpredictable environment, and covers preparing for, and managing, risk on different terrains in varying conditions. As well as keeping a group safe it will also cover the techniques of off-road running, including ascending, descending and coping with different terrains and conditions under foot.
You can read more about the course content on the scottishathletics website.
Please search and book your course using our online booking system ‘Athletics Hub’ here.
Please contact The Coach Education Team on coaching@scottishathletics.org.uk if you have any problems with your booking.
- There are also plenty of opportunities to train as a Jog Leader in the spring, with our Leadership in Running Fitness qualification – check out the full listings!
