Train as a jog leader in 2024!
Wednesday 3 January 2024

Could you inspire other people to get active for the first time, or to experience the joy of reaching goals they never knew were possible? Why not make 2024 the year you become a jogscotland jog leader?
You don’t have to be a fast runner – some of our best jog leaders are people who remember very well how it felt to be a beginner jogger. The most important thing is to have a passion for the benefits of getting active, and a commitment to help people overcome barriers that might stop them.
In return, you’ll feel the satisfaction of watching your joggers progress, make new friends, and improve their physical and mental health as they enjoy your sessions.
Our spring 2024 calendar features several opportunities to take the Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) qualification, which will teach you all you need to know to set up your own jog group, or become a leader at an existing group.
Each course comprises a series of online modules, followed by a practical session, on the following dates:
14 January – Scotstoun
10 February Meadowbank
11 February – Aberdeen
2 March – Grangemouth
14 April – Kilmarnock
27 April – Pitreavie

Off road module
We are pleased to offer our Fell, hill, off road and trail module in Stirling on 20 April. The course is for those who already have the Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) qualification, and want to expand their skills and confidence for leading in a variety of off-road settings – find out more.
Coach in Running Fitness
You could also continue your coaching journey by taking the Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) qualification, which takes your understanding and skills to a new level and opens up more opportunities for endurance coaching – you’ll find dates for these on the scottishathletics course listings.
