Awards nomination for the jogscotland and SAMH partnership
Wednesday 8 November 2023

We’re delighted that our partnership with SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health) has been shortlisted for the Active Scotland Most Valuable Partnership Award, at this year’s Scottish Women in Sport Awards.
The nomination recognises our work together since we joined forced as partners in 2017, to promote the benefits that being physical active in a group can have for our mental wellbeing.
The project has seen mental health awareness training offered to our jog leaders so that they can support their joggers better, as well as awareness-raising campaigns and a real shift in our approach, to emphasise the mental health benefits of being active, as much as the physical benefits.
The winners will be announced at the SWiS Awards in Glasgow on 24 November, which this year celebrates the 10th anniversary of the organisation.
- The nomination comes as SAMH adopts a new name – formerly Scottish Association for Mental Health, it has now become Scottish Action for Mental Health, to emphasise its intent to continue taking action for the mental health of the people of Scotland. Read more…
