Parliamentary motion praises Group of the Year Monkton Milers

Our jogscotland Group of the Year for 2024 have been presented with a parliamentary motion by a South Scotland MSP.

The Monkton Milers were recognised by Sharon Dowey for their big award last autumn.

MSP Sharon said: ‘It was a real pleasure to meet with the Monkton Milers in Troon and present them with a congratulatory motion in recognition of their achievement.

‘Their well-deserved award win is testament to their hard work and commitment to making running inclusive and accessible for all.

‘The club’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment where people of all abilities can enjoy the benefits of running is truly great.

‘I look forward to seeing their continued success in getting people more active, and improving their physical and mental health.’

jogscotland Annual Awards 2022

The motion from the Conservative and Unionist MSP also highlighted Monkton Milers chairperson Rachel Cox, who was named our jogscotland Leader of the Year in 2022.

The non-profit club regularly runs Couch to 5K courses and aims to boost confidence and promote enjoyment through running.

Monkton Milers are open to adults aged 18 and over and meets at 7pm every Monday and Wednesday at the Troon South Beach Kiosk.
