WOW! We had 425 people join jogscotland last month!

Congratulations and welcome to the network.

It can be daunting taking on something new, especially running so here’s some of our top tips for new joggers.

*Start Slow and Steady – You don’t need to sprint. Jog at a pace that lets you chat – if you’re breathless, ease off a little.

*Rest Days Are Part of the Plan – Your body gets stronger while you rest, so don’t skip your recovery days.

*Consistency > Intensity – A few gentle runs each week will get you further than pushing too hard and risking injury or burnout.

*Listen to Your Body – A little soreness is normal, but sharp pain is a red flag. Always reach out if you’re unsure.

*Celebrate Every Milestone – Your first run, your first full week, your first 20-minute jog – every win is worth celebrating!

Most importantly . . . you are not doing this alone. Your jog group leader is here to support, encourage, and guide you every step of the way.

Got questions? Feeling nervous? Need a boost? Just ask – we’ve got your back.
