Banish Blue Monday
Monday 15 January 2018

Today is sometimes touted as the most miserable day of the year, but we’d like to disagree for two reasons:
First, mental health is complicated, and anyone can feel bad, and in need of support, on any day of the year. We’re proud to partner with SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health), who work year-round to improve Scotland’s mental health. If you’re in need of more support today, or any other day, they can help. Why not check out their Five Ways to Better Mental Health, use their Wellbeing Self Assessment tool, read their booklet, Understanding Depression, or take a look at their Self-help and Wellbeing pages.
Second, we and our trained Jog Leaders are dedicated to getting Scotland active, and we know that this can help boost mental wellbeing as well as physical health. Getting out and active is an accessible, quick way to give your mood a boost when you hit a bad spell, and throughout your life. On facebook, we’re asking our joggers to banish Blue Monday by sharing with us photos of the ways that running helps make them happy – check out the album on our facebook page.
